A matter of perspective

If we are so deeply immersed in our own human experience which is all encompassing, how can we possibly understand the nature of the human condition? You've got to be able to find a vantage point from which you can observe the human condition. It requires a different perspective, like a doctor diagnosing an illness in a patient. One way is to observe human bevahiour thru a non-human perspective. So whose perspective would that be? How about an alien from another planet! Thats precisely what I saw in the TV serials Third rock from the Sun and Alf where the human condition is being presented from an aliens perspective. I love both these TV serials for the excellent job they have done in making me aware of my own human condition. Never thought of these TV serails that way? Well, check them out again and let me if you now have a different perspective on them....
